Abstract

Dynamometer is an equipment to measuring machine power an fuel motor achievement test. Nowadays, mechanica engineering Muhammadiyah University of Malang still haven’t a dynamometer to do this test, because of expensive prise of a dynamometer. It is needed to make same dynamometer full motor practice installation, and for that reason, this dynamometer design has made. Beside that, remembering the importance a methode in a design in mechanical engineering UMM (87 percent’s survey not use real methode) therefore Pahl & Beitz methode used in this design. In a pahl and Beitz methods, it is design theough four fases are design and explanation task, design of product concept, embodiment design and detail of design. Then obtained a product concept to fulfill criteria needed is dynamometer kind of prony brake from several preliminary layout, which is made then yield of definitive layout is redy to do detail of design and calculation. From this case and current design, its design has been obtained dimention or measure, characteristic and material that used by dynamometer made as prony brake. Machine is used maximum power about 120 kW with as prony brake. Machine rotation about 6000 rpm are obtained diameter axis=50 mm, capacity of counter weight is 100 kg, arm of prony brake=0,5 m, diameter of prony brake is 20 cm, bearing number HR30310J, mean diameter of foundation bolt are 10 mm, digital tacho OPM 2234, and Stell frame ST 37 with H profile width 10 cm, high 10 cm, and thickness 1,1 cm.
