Abstract

The issue of bird flu in 2003 began to be preached by the mass media, has caused unrest in society, especially since the victims of this virus, eventually problem of bird flu issue more and more media spotlight, both print and electronics. Incessant preaching of the original small become so big. Of incessant The news then came a variety of adverse effects upon tissue distribution of poultry including restoranrestoran which serves chicken. Adverse effects here is kerugian-kerugian economically suffered by poultry entrepreneurs, including fast-food restaurant Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), due to declining public confidence of poultry products (meat, eggs) caused due to incessant media coverage mass of the bird flu outbreak. So to handle it is necessary to take steps appropriate for these problems can be quickly resolved. From this phenomenon the researchers wanted Activities describe the PR Restaurants Fast Food KFC in Crisis Management For Addressing Impact of Mass Media Coverage About Bird Flu Outbreak. The formulation of problems in this research is how PR activity Restaurants Fast Food KFC in Crisis Management to address Impact of Mass Media Coverage of Bird Flu Outbreak. The research objective was to Public Relation Activities Restouran know How Fast Food KFC in Management Responding to Crisis Impact of News Media Coverage of Bird Flu Outbreak. This research attempts to describe a complete and accurate information about Public Relation Activities Page. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk (KFC) in Crisis Management to address the impact of news mass media about bird flu. So this is a descriptive type of research. Research methods used method of case study research, where researchers try to provide a clear picture about a case, namely the impact of media coverage mass of the bird flu outbreak. While data collection techniques used were through interviews and documentation. With Information Sources totaling 8 people, including a Head of Marketing Executive Public Relations, namely Adi S Tjahdjadi SE, and 7 people Restouran Manager KFC, namely; Supreme S, Ruslan Saleh SE, Dwi Kurniadi SE, Ali Wahyudi, Yayuk Yayuti, Heru Janalupi, Wasito Hadi. The result of this study, the exposure of several steps which has conducted by PT. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk (KFC), in an attempt to address the adverse impacts mass media about bird flu outbreak. Among them is the attempt to external parties involved in these activities, namely the Government, other organizations, and mass media. The relationship of cooperation with government is through a form of activity chicken healthy eating campaign, where KFC as a sponsor to provide the chicken, banners, and umbulumbul. The collaborative efforts of PT. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk (KFC) with Other organizations are sending one Restouran Branch Manager of KFC ITC Permata Hijau as a guest speaker in talk show with a theme related to bird flu held at ITC Permata Hijau with party organizers are Property ITC Permata Hijau. While the collaborative efforts of PT. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk (KFC) with media mass media is to invite journalists both print and electronic media journalists to cover the activities of the campaign can eat healthy chickens, in addition Poster communicate through the news in print media, and conduct interviews live with local radio, and live interviews with TV station reporter aired in news coverage, The conclusion shows that the implementation of activities that have been conducted by PT. Fast food Indonesia Tbk in crisis management to address the impact of mass media about an outbreak of bird flu has been going well, judging from the level of community awareness and the level of purchase at KFC product.
