The process of aging is a natural process. In this process, the most crucial stage (many cause problems) is the advanced stage (elderly). In this process there is a decrease or change in physical condition, psychological and social issues are related. The process of change or decline sparked anxieties in the elderly, such as anxiety in the face of death. Because of that, how the elderly in the face of death anxiety is an interesting problem to be investigated. This study aims to determine how the image of elderly people in the face of death anxiety, perceptions about the death of the elderly, the factors that cause anxiety and efforts to overcome anxiety. This research is a qualitative research method of case studies of two elderly people who face chronic illness. The subject of this research is the HS who suffer from chronic illness who suffer from asthma and primary chronic disease of the heart. Data collection techniques used were in-depth interview with the interview guidelines. From the study found that elderly people who face the thought process of death is in the bargaining phase that appears in social activities and keagaamaan form deeds of virtue and have prayed for long life, conduct religious worship for the Lord is pleased to provide longevity. The process of thought so this causes the elderly experience anxiety in the face of death in the form of fear seeing the body or the dead, frightened when electricity is out and the feeling being in another world, concerns about the way the lives of children and grandchildren who have not "good" (well-established and happy) that will be abandoned. Anxiety was visible on the symptoms of both physical symptoms of anxiety (physiological) in the form of complaints and physical illnesses or symptoms of mental (psychological), a feeling of worry, fear and helplessness Mersa. Several factors cause this anxiety, the physical deterioration of the diseases suffered by the elderly, psychological form of feeling afraid or worried, helpless, unable to concentrate, loss of confidence, no rest, and confused. Efforts to overcome anxiety in the face of death made by check their health regularly to a health center or hospital or doctor, entertain themselves or recreation, socializing and strengthen religious spirituality with worship draw closer to God.
