Abstract

Communication development in global era is so important. Since through communication, people would get information. Information was used by person to find anything happened inside or outside the neighborhood. Information was found by human through media. Media became one of information window for human being. That’s also happened in the company, the company would need media as the bridge of communication and giving information from the organization management to the employee, media also could be media in distributing employee’s aspiration to the management. Internal media arranged by the organization’s public relation would run one of the management function which supported the development and maintenance between management line and public. Internal media has strategic function in planning communication in information sending. Beside, internal media also inform the company value to reach the destination. Through better work climate and condition to build and develop the employee morale for better work. The problem faced in the researh was how much the influence of internal media message attack to the employee work-morale at PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. The research aimed to find out the influence of internal media message to the employee work-morale of PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Population of the research were the employees of mining division of PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara which consisted of 150 employees. While the samples were 140 respondents (according to the equation by Taro Yamane formula with precision 0.05%) sampling method used were Probability Sampling that was Simple Random Smpling. By the criteria of employee work-length divided into several time interval : work length 1-3 years = 20 employees; work-length 4-6 years = 72 employees; work-length 7-9 years = 36 employees, work-length > 9 years = 12 employees. Data collection technique used was questionnaire and documentation while in analyzing the data used simple linear regression with formula Y = a + bX. While the theory used in this research was Grand Theory, that was mass media effect theory. Research method by validity method used correlation product moment formula and reliability test using Alpha Cronbach with correlation coefficient and determination coefficient. Data analysis used F test. There found the company internal media message attack has significant influence to the work-morale of the employee since F count > F table that was 189.319>3,91 it means H0 was rejected and H1 accepted. With the other words, the hypothesis stated that there was influence of internal media message attack to the employee work-morale could be accepted and the hypothesis stated that there were no influence of internal media message attack to the employee work-morale was rejected. There could be concluded that employee work-morale could be influenced in significant way by the internal media message attack of the company. The variable of internal media message attack to the employee work-morale was 57.8% (according to determination coefficient), rest of them, 42.2% caused by the other un-researched factors in the research. According to the simple linear regression, the researcher got Y = 12,424 + 0,747X so that could be found that larger the internal media message attack, higher the employee work-morale at PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Since the Internal media message atteck variable (X) to the employee work morale (Y) at PT. Newmont in strong criteria according to the interpretation, the management should increase the role of internal media message attack. They also pay attention to another factor influenced the employee work-morale.
