Abstract
In the matrix theory has been known for a matrix form called Smith normal form or is known as Smith canonical form. This form is often used in matters related to the matrix as well as proof of theorems. Smith normal form is one of the important forms of matrix theory. Therefore, many mathematicians tried to dig its presence with a variety of approaches one of whom is trying to dig through a matrix of polynomials over the field, the Lambda matrix. The purpose of this paper is to determine the Smith normal form Lambda matrix and investigate the existence of the Smith normal form Lambda matrix. Smith normal form of a matrix with rank can be found by determining the largest distributors of communion elements and the process of reduction using elementary transformations. Smith normal form of Lambda matrix ( ) can be determined by using elementary transformations, which means it can be determined by the given matrix. So, what is mean by normal matrices Smith is a set of canonical for equality. While the set of canonical matrices under the equivalence that is, if every matrix is equivalent to each other and only one matrix of the set was.
