Abstract

Miseenscene (Read: meezahnsen) comes from French meaning "place on stage "or" put on the scene. " Starting from the use of the stage theater, now the term is used in the study of film (film studies) to indicate how particular scene is framed (framing). Miseenscene can also mean pengartikulasian space cinematic or can also be interpreted as mapping the scene or anything that is put and arranged in front of the camera in a film production. Elements contained in Miseenscene namely: acting & movement of players, costumes & Makeup, settings & decorations, space (Space) and composition, Lighting (Lighting). The film is selected in this study titled Amelie. The film, starring French actress Audrey Tautou and Mathieu Kassovitz French actor was produced in 2001 and directed by French director, JeanPierre Jeunet. This research attempts to describe how elements MiseenScene in the movie Amelie composed and revealed what is the meaning of the elements MiseenScene in the movie Amelie. This study uses semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes' model approach interpretive, where efforts to interpret signs contained in film. Reason peneneliti using semiotic analysis model for researchers interested Barthes with the idea of the significance of two stages (two orders of signification) proposed by Barthes. The significance of the first stage is the relationship between signifier and signified in the a sign of external reality that is called by Barthes as a denotation, ie The most obvious meaning of the sign. While the significance of the second phase which is also referred to as connotation is the interaction that occurs when the sign met with feelings or emotions of readers and values culture. Connotations, for Barthes is identical to the operation ideology, which he calls the myth (myth). Myth is how the culture to explain or understand some aspect or symptom nature. Studying the film means to learn the culture because the film is a real reflection community where the film was produced. Understanding the culture means exploring how meaning is produced symbolically through praktikpraktik meaning of language. In ideology in the film there is also a filmmaker. One way to understand an ideology is by studying myth. After finding penandapenanda (Signifiers) researchers then interpret the sign denotation (Denotative signified) and signified connotation (conotative signified). In accordance with the method Roland Barthes' semiotic model there are two levels of meaning in this study. In meaning the level of the first level, this film is a film about a French girl innocent and a loner and was trying to overcome the confusion that he faced when he fall in love with a man. At the second level of meaning or the level of myth, researchers capture that this film is a film French female figures representing today's savvy and values inherited social and heroism. This film shows the character of people France is unique, pay attention and great appreciation for art and culture, free, democratic, nationalist, and patriotic. In this film there are patriotic and nationalistic ideology of individual France is trying to be communicated by the filmmaker. Amelie is powerful, social-minded tall, imaginative, and intelligent, is a heroine of France as well as supervisors and patron of Paris (and France extensively) in the form of fiction created by filmmaker. Through the film Amelie, the filmmaker shows that for the figure represents heroic and resilient women who do not have to show women bear arms, fight smart, strong, and so forth. By adjusting the elements Miseenscene which includes setting & decorations, costumes and makeup, acting & movement player, space, and lighting in a creative film production may be, will be produced a visual that is not only beautiful to be enjoyed but also has a deep meaning. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute positively to the practitioners of film to be able to pour ideidenya through creative visualization and beautiful in his work.
