This study aimed at studying the students’ learning style employed by the second year students at SMA Negeri I Kawedanan, Magetan. Learning style is the way the students learn, it is the important factor in teaching learning process. This is because learning style can increase the students’ achievement. Besides, the knowledge of the students’ learning style must be known by the teacher before determining the appropriate style in teaching English so that the mismatch between students’ learning style and teachers’ teaching style can be avoided. Based on the statement above, the formulated problems were: (1) What are the kinds of learning styles employed by the second year students in learning English? (2) Which learning style is mostly employed by the second year students’ in learning English? The research design used in this study was descriptive quantitative. The populat ion of this study was the second year students of SMA Negeri I Kawedanan, Magetan. The sample of this study was 40 students which were selected by using cluster sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was PLSPQ (Perceptual Learning Style Preferences Questionnaire) which was designed by Reid (1987) The result of the study showed that there were six kinds of learning style employed by the second year students of SMA Negeri I Kawedanan, Magetan in learning English. They were visual, auditory, kinesthetic, tactile, group, and individual learning style. And the most dominant learning style employed by the second year students of SMA Negeri I Kawedanan, Magetan was the auditory learning style. The conclusion of this study is the second year students of SMA Negeri I Kawedanan employed different learning styles in learning English. It shows that the students learn English based on their own preference. In addition, the students could employ multiple learning styles. This is because they could employ all the kinds of learning style in learning English.
