Abstract
Backgraund : Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is caused by dengue virus. It is transmitted by Aedes aegypti, human as the only reservoir of that virus. Many Indonesian family and household use alum as a water purifier because of the easily been used and very cheap. However, it hadn’t been known whether alum used in water can effect the hatching of Aedes aegypti eggs. Purpose : To know the effect of different alum concentration in the hatcing of Aedes aegypti eggs. Research Method : The sampel : The Aedes aegypti eggs age less than 7 days of age. ANOVA test was used to know there was an effect of alum’s concentration in water againts hatching of Aedes aegypti eggs. Result of the study : The ANOVA test showed that alum concentration in water could influenced the hatching of Aedes aegypti eggs, if it used in 6 x 106 M minimum adequate concentration, and there was significantly difference with p<0.05. Conclution : There was an effect of alum concentration in water againts hatching of Aedes aegypti eggs.
