Abstract

Lucilia fly is one of the mechanical vector responsible for human disease transsmision, because its body can bring patogenic microorganism causing diarrhoea. The objective of the study was to know the influence of temperature, humidity and light intensity on population of Lucilia and the parasite in the outer part of their bodies that caught in Mandaran Port at Pasuruan (altitude 4 m above sea level) during August – September 2008. This research was an analytic observational study with a statistical regression and corelation. The samples were Lucilia that caught by fly trap for 2 hours (09.0011.00 a.m.) in the morning and 2 hours (12.0002.00 p.m.) in the afternoon twice a week within 1 month. The data were collected from direct observation and had been done in laboratory. The data were analysed by descriptive statistic and it was served in a distribution frequence table. To analysed the statistic regression between the variable, Ftest and ttest with level of significance < 0.05 was used. A total of 19 Lucilia were collected (6 male and 13 female), 13 (4 male and 9 female) werefound in the morning and 6 (2 male and 4 female) in the afternoon. No parasite in the outer part of Lucilia bodies, only 6 artefact have been found. The result showed that there was a statistically significant (at 0.02 confidence level) between male Lucilia with temperature, humidity and light intensity in the morning and significant (at 0.023 confidence level) Lucilia in the morning. Further research should be done in many different places with different environmental factors, in the longer duration.
