Abstract

Spiritual crisis and the crisis of self-knowledge we have of God is absolute is the estuary of the crises that occurred in the community whether it is a moral crisis, economic, or environmental. So also with the younger generation, so that foster spiritual intelligence (SQ) as an important basis for the early formation of generations. Spiritual intelligence itself is an intelligence that originates in self-awareness of the meaning and value of life that will make life a person becomes bijakdan according to conscience. Although intelligence is not always associated with religion, but the spiritual-religious relations are more harmonious would further improve the quality of one's spiritual intelligence. The factors affecting intelligence are: psychological, age, gender, education and social stratification. The purpose of this study was to determine the different levels of spiritual intelligence in terms of type of school students. The type of research is non-experimental research design of quantitative research. The research was conducted on 26 March to 1 April 2006 by taking the student population who represent the religion-oriented school students Interior Madrasah Aliyah (MAN) 3 with a total sample of 51, and who represent the public-oriented school that students high school Affairs (SMA) 1 with a sample of 44, so the total sample of 95 persons. Validity and reliability using the computer program SPSS 11.0 for windows. Where to test the validity of using the product moment formula, while the reliability test using the technique of Cronbach Alpha. From the t-test analysis showed that (t = -0.127 and P = 0.899). The mean in public 147.43-oriented school and the mean value on religion-oriented school that is 147.76. This indicates that there is no difference in the level of spiritual intelligence in terms of type of school students.
