Abstract

At the end of 2008 there were 35,505 cell phone towers or Base Transceiver Station (BTS) towers in Indonesia. However, this tower has not been used for other needs, except for transceiving (transmitting and recieving) as a radio service to the mobile station / mobile phone. At this time, cell phone tower still uses electricity supply from PLN(State Electricity Corporation). As renewable energy, wind turbine application is the solution into the problems. So, that needs to be done the conceptual design of wind turbine on the cell phone tower. Conceptual design aims to obtain a principle solution. Principle solution means recapitulates the selected components from evaluation of technical and economic criteria. Then it can be a reference or input of embodiment design phase The conceptual design stages are to identify the essential problems from the requirements list, to establish the function structure, search for working principle and structure of work, combination and concept layout, evaluation of technical and economic criteria, principles and solutions as a final result of the conceptual design process.
