Abstract

The main factors affecting the concrete weight is the weight of aggregate, both coarse aggregate and fine aggregate. To get the expected quality of concrete, one of which is the aggregate quality kasarnya.Umumnya amount of coarse aggregate in concrete has a dominant percentage (70-75%) of the total volume of solid mass of concrete. Therefore, in order to obtain a smaller specific gravity and light. This study will show the effect of adding variation husk ash and clay as coarse aggregate made of concrete characteristics. Research was conducted laboratory testing of Muhammadiyah University of Malang, and the burning of artificial aggregates made dipabrik ceramics. This study took various additional husk ash to the clay at 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Any variation made five concrete cylindrical specimens (15 x 30) cm. To further testing compressive strength, density and porosity. Implementation of this research through 3 stages, namely the examination bahahn stacking concrete (cement, sand, artificial coarse aggregate), concrete cylinder specimens manufacture and maintenance of concrete cylinder specimens were soaked up to 28 days. The resulting aggregate has a specific gravity less than 2.0 the water uptake reaches 80-20%, and the Los Angeles test results with average wear can be classified aggregate aggregate class II (10-20) MPa. The best composition variation obtained on the variation of clay + 10% rice husk ash in the amount of 247.87 kg/cm2 with a value of 1.98 gram/cm3 density concrete, it can be said that the resulting concrete is lightweight concrete is concrete with a density of less than 2 , 3 gram/cm3.
