Abstract

Problems of line balancing in in a produce often disregarded by company, eventhough problem of trajectory balance represent one important thing in accomplishment of produce goals which have been planned. Company of Plasterboard brand WALET that located in Lawang Malang, represent company that produced various plasterboard type. Problems faced by this company is the company frequently cannot fulfill request of consumer caused by lowering sum up production consequences by less of balanced production line In the effort of finishing the problems, the method that used is Rank Positional Weight (RPW) method and Region Approach (RA) method that representing of heuristic with approach of trial and error. Efficiency analysis that done to compare early condition with condition after applying the method of line balancing at company include balance delay, line efficiency, and output production. Based on result analysis from both method got result of calculation early balance delay 49.55% decreased to 16.42% with method of Rank Positional Weight (RPW) and 15.27% with method of Region Approach (RA). While efficiency of line from early condition equal to 50.45% increased to 83.58% with method of Rank Positional Weight (RPW) and 84.73% with method of Region Approach (RA). Produce output of plasterboard increase from early condition 5.200 sheet / month become 7.592 sheet / month with method of Rank Positional Weight (RPW) and 84.73% with method of Region Approach (RA). Produce output of plasterboard increased from early condition 5.200 sheet / month become 7.592 sheet / month with method of Rank Positional Weight (RPW) and 7.696 sheet / month with method of Region Approach (RA). . With this improvement, company can fulfill request of consumer and the two method can be used in trouble-shooting of line balance to increase productivity in Company of Plasterboard brand WALET
