Abstract

Mathematic is a lesson which is taught from basic elementary to High School. Beside its abstract characteristic, mathematic concept understanding was so important since for the new concept understanding, we need to understand the previous concept. In teaching activity, the teacher has duty to choose the learning model. Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model by multimedia could be an alternative of mathematic learning according to the mathematic characteristic and the direction of 2004 curriculum. This research aimed to : (1) describe the student’s activity in Creative Problem Solving (CPS) by using multimedia in math geometry at second grade SDN Kasin Elementary School of Malang. (2) describe the children learning achievement in Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model by using multimedia in math geometry learning at second grade SDN Kasin Elementary School of Malang. The research used quantitative approach. The subject describe the student’s activity in using Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model at second grade SDN Kasin Elementary School of Malang and describe the learning achievement in Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model at second grade SDN Kasin Elementary School of Malang. The object used was second grade SDN Kasin Elementary School of Malang students which amount was 45 students where at 2006/2007 still active as students in the location. According to research for four times meeting, could be concluded that Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model could increase the student’s achievement after study. Student’s activity could be seen along the using of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model by multimedia could be stated as well (B).
