Abstract

Sentra Industri Liberty Gresik is one of the famous home industry center of bag production in Gresik. But there are also some problem occur in the quality of the product which has produced. From the previous research before, it has found some problems that the company is really difficult to decrease the amount of deforming products for the example faded paint, liberated and messy sewings, broken plastic belt, etc. This research has the purpose to knowing kind of defect and identifying the biggest defect to be priority of revised and choosing best revising alternative to be implemented for each CTQ and also counting DPMO value, sigma level and COPQ value before and after being implemented. So that, the beginning DPMO of the company is 42636 per one million of chances and the sigma level is 3,2. To solve those problems, in planning to fix these school bag products will wok by the concept of DMAIC. Which has begin by identifying factors causing variation, and then stay focus on the research in Critical to Quality, next Measuring activities to the value of sigma and DPMO, having explore towards the factors which it cause deformity by using Fishbone Diagram. Afterward, we can choose alternative way and recommend it by FMEA table, it depends on value of the highest RPN. After this research, company have the result of implementation which shown that DPMO have been decreased to 22849 and the sigma level increased to 3,5
