Abstract

Pre-school age is a crucial age, in the formation of character, morals and personality of a young mother's role in the moral development of children can not be ignored, because the mother was the first person closest to the child, also bonding between mother and child existed before child was born. That is why a mother is very necessary to guide and educate their children to control behavior through education that would have started from an early age in the family. This study aims to determine how the mother's role in the moral development of preschoolers. Types of qualitative research is descriptive, where researchers try to describe the phenomenon or the fact that looks as it is. The researchers used four subjects who have preschool age children .. Location of the research conducted Landung Sari village, jl. Utomo Tirto Kab. Malang conducted in January through March 2007. Data collection techniques used were interviews and observations, and supporting data from informers who come from close family and neighbors subjects. The results broadly suggest that the role of mothers in the moral development of preschool children is very important, as the figure nearest the child's mother can be a good example. Various efforts in guiding the child's mother in connection with its role in achieving the moral development of children as well as a foundation for children in the face of later life such as, from four different subjects have a busy, but it did not become an obstacle because it is basically still can play an important subject for children. As parents set the example and model for children, instilling the closeness and openness to children and families. Of the four subjects only one subject that has not been able to apply consistency in teaching and applying the norms in children, while three other subjects were quite good. The four subjects have the same desire, to equip children with religious values and teachings to worship early on, children become good and obedient to parents, because of discipline and religious is very important, but it also teaches general knowledge, as provision of education and preparing children to have a broader knowledge.
