Abstract

Yes indeed that we cannot neglect, that Hollywood’s Movie is a product of art which still on the top of popularity in entertaintment until now. That is because those movie is already dominate almost of the movie that have been showed on the movie theatre (including Indonesia). Those phenomenon undirectly have reflect that in all of Hollywood movie which showed on the theatre, consist of the things that makes the audience so attracted to watch. In this kind of research, there will be explain about the factors which makes the audience attracted to watching Hollywood’s Movies. Factor is the thing that always be the basis of every phenomenon that will be happened. Inherently, the existence of factor could be triggering or even enervating the phenomenon that will be happened. All of the activity that did by someone, it always based on the factors, whether it is came from the inside or outside of an individual. Hollywood Movie is the term for a movies which made by the biggest movie industry in one area that called Hollywood in United States of America, and it also be the role model for all movie industries in the entire of the world. Based on that phenomenon, this research is have a purpose to knowing the factors which are influence the audience to watching a Hollywood movies. The problem formulation of this research is the factors that influence the audience to watching a Hollywood Movie (a study on the audiences of Malang Town Square 21 Movie Theatre, in Malang City). So, based on those problem, the purpose of this research is for analyzing what kind of factors that could influence the audiences to watching a Hollywood Movie. This research method is use the quantitative approachment with the research’s subject is about 37 person who randomly choosed from the Matos 21 Movie theatre’s audiences. The research data collecting technic that used in this research is a questionnaire. Based on the result of data collecting and data analysis, the conclusion that can be obtained are the factors that could be influence audiences to watching a Hollywood movia are: main idea (45%), the story (44%), entertaint effect (44%). The action (42%), the performance from the actor and actress (33%), and the theme (32%), which are those factors is have a big influence to makes the audiences to watching Hollywood Movie. Hopefully, this research is could be more developed , especially for the University of Muhammadiyah Malang Communication major Student, who will do the similar research. And beside of that, it also hoped could be an input for an Indonesia movie creators, and they are could be applying the six factors that influence the audience to watching Hollywood Movie, in all of their movie. So the movie creator will be able to give a good quality movie and also give a brand new experience for the audiences, after watching movie in theatre, like what Hollywood movie already give.
