Abstract

Motivation is an activity which cause, distribute, and maintain human behavior. This motivation is an important subject for manager since the manager should work through somebody else. Manager has to understand certain people with their attitude so that he could influence him to work according to the organization. When in a company, the work-force has high motivation and enough discipline, so that the employee’s productivity could be said as high productivity and the result also would be increasing. There also the opposite while there was lack of discipline, so the work-productivity would be low. There is a fact that motivation and discipline have huge influence to the productivity. Productivity in general is stated as the comparison between input and output. The problem is of productivity was not that simple. There are so many factors influenced it, where there were supporting factor and inhibiting factor. In general, there was known that productivy should be reflected by salary and buying ability so that it could increase the demand and market passion to increase work opportunity and people passion. This research aimed to analyze : (1) how the level of CV. Bintang Mas employee work-discipline; (2) how the CV. Bintang Mas employee work-discipline and productivity; (3) is there a relation between motivation with discipline and work-productivity. The research area was done in purposive way. It was in Tied-Woven Sarong Small Industry at Parengan Village Pekalongan, Lamongan. Data analysis method was scale rate and paht analysis. Scale rate was used to measure the high and low motivation, discipline, and work-productivity to employee. While paht analysis was used to find the relation between one change to another without pay attention to the relation of cause-consequence. The concept model was : (1) motivation variable (X1) has indirect influence to employee productivity (Y); (2) motivation variable (Y) through work-discipline (X2); (3) work-discipline variable (X2) has in-direct influence to employee productivity (Y) The result showed that work-discipline at CV. Bintang Mas was high, while for work-motivation at CV. Bintang Mas also well. The output result in motivation influence to the work-discipline was 0,406 and significant at 0,000 which showed that motivation influenced work-discipline. Direct contribution of motivation to work discipline was 69,8% which showed that while there was motivation progress, so that the employee discipline. While output in motivation and discipline influence to the productivity was 0,742 and 0,381 which all significant to 0,000. Direct contribution of work motivation and discipline to productivity was 0,57% which was showed that in every motivation and work-discipline progress, there also productivity progress for the employee.
