Motivation to learn is a process that encourages a person to achieve a goal, in this case is on teaching and learning activities. Learning motivation and learning activities are influenced by several things, including factors that come from within oneself which is also called internal factors. Grade 4 Students Encouragement SDN Balearjosari 1 No. 01 in an effort to learn still low, this is seen by many, many students are punished by his teacher because he violates the rules, like not doing homework or take any other task. It seems students have never been bored with punishment from her teacher that is excluded from the class if it does not do homework. In fact, almost every day there are always students who are removed from class because it violates. It can be seen that the sense of discipline students for learning and encouragement to do homework is still far from expectations. Next is the external factors originating from the environment. Support parents are expected to be the main motivation to spur Study abroad in their children, because family is the smallest environment where these students live. Environmental grade 4 students who felt too crowded, with 50 students. In this case the teacher is less able to give attention to students who lacked motivation to learn, so the teacher is less optomal in teaching. Become very rowdy classroom teaching and learning activities and could not walk properly. The purpose of this study is to investigate students' motivation in learning activities. In school year 2005-2006, there were 8 students grades 4 SDN Balearjosari 1 No. 01 is not the next grade. Subjects were some grade 4 student at SDN Balearjosari 1 No. 01 are considered to lack the impetus to learn which can be seen from his behavior in the classroom and on teacher command. Data collection methods used were interviews and observation. Bardasarkan research results it can be concluded that the grade 4 student at SDN Balearjosari have less motivation to learn, be it at home that can be seen from its complete or not in homework and in school with all his behavior. This can be seen from several aspects unearthed, namely interest, concentration, effort in learning and a desire to read is still low.
