Abstract

Organization commitment is considered as important thing in organization because employers with high commitment will have professional attitude and revere the agreement reached values in organization and willing to exert all their capability for organization importance. The appear of the problems that interrelated with human resources like demonstration by employers is one of the problems that reflects the important of organization commitment at employers and actually it does not detach from communication system problem that is happened in firm. Communication is important key for individual in understanding her/his role in organization. One kind of organizations in firm is interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication capability is very important to be owned by each of employers to know how to work, solve the problem, evaluate the result of their work and make decision together. This research has purpose to know the relationship between interpersonal communication capability with organization commitment at employers. The population in this research is all of the permanent employers in Kedawoeng Sugar Factory of Pasuruan. The sample is taken by sampling purposive technique and the characteristic that is used the employers who have been working at least five years. The sample in this research is 118 people. Data collecting is done by interpersonal communication capability scale and organization commitment scale. The method of data analysis that is used in this research is product moment correlation technique from Karl Person using SPSS program computer system 12,0 for windows. Validity index that is obtained for interpersonal communication capability scale 0,282 – 0,724 and organization commitment scale 0,318 – 0,628. The reliability examination uses Alpha measuring technique with help by SPSS computer 12,0 for windows and Alpha value that is obtained for interpersonal communication capability 0,617 – 0,742 and organization commitment scale 0,719 – 0,786. From the result of data analysis, there is positive relationship that significance between interpersonal communication capability with organization commitment at employers (r = 0,499 and p = 0,000). It means, that the employers of Kedawoeng Sugar Factory who have low interpersonal communication capability will be following by low organization commitment. Interpersonal communication capability gives effective contribution to organization commitment in the amount 24,9% and the residue in the amount of 75,1% is influenced by other variables that is not researched
