Abstract

The research was a library study at Statistic Center Institution (Badan Pusat Statistik BPS) Lumajang Residence, with topic: Analysis of investment influence and workforce to Gross Regional Domestic Product of Lumajang Residence (1998-2008). The research aimed to find out how large investment and work-force influence to Gross Regional Domestic Product of Lumajang Residence and also to find out which production factor had the most dominant role from each factors. The hypothesis was: There guessed investment and work-force had significant and positive influence to Gross Regional Domestic Product of Lumajang Residence and investment had more dominant role in Gross Regional Domestic Product growth in Lumajang Residence compared with work-force factor. To prove the hypothesis, there used multiple linear regression analysis T test and F test from analysis and data found from equation: Y = -95145,5 + 0,020 X1 = 138,35913 X2. R² = 0, 931 means that 93,1% Gross Regional Domestic Product variables was explained by the independent variable, they were investment, work force, and loan given. While rest of 6,9% of Gross Regional Domestic Product variable would be explained by the other undiscussed variable in this research. According to t test X1 analysis showed t count = 9,657. while t table ( = 0,05 ; db residual = 7) was 2,364. since t count > t table was 9.657 > 2,364 so that the influence of X1 was significant in failure level = 5%. It means that independent variable X1 and X2 had significant influence to the dependent variable Y while f count was 47,587 while F table ( = 0,05 ; db regression = 2 : db residual = 7) was 4,737. since F count > F table that was 47,587 > 4,737 so that the analysis would be significant, so that Ho was rejected and Hi was accepted in simultaneous way had significant influence to dependent variable Y. And independent variable regression coefficient X1 > independent variable regression coefficient X2, that was 0,020 > 138,35913 means that independent variable X1 (investment) had dominant influence to Lumajang residence compared with work-force along the research time.
