Abstract

Confidence is a strong belief in a person. People who have low self confidence tend to have a sense of dissatisfaction or acceptance of any deficiency or surplus is in itself .. Confidence is not innate but is formed from the interaction of individuals with their environment, whether to family, school, or the wider community. Low self-esteem is a problem that can be bad for individual development, through all the challenges in life that happen to that individual. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, which aims to explain the problems that occurred in subjects that lead to lack of confidence. This study aims to help subjects solve problems that they face the problem of low self-esteem. For data collection, the author uses the method, observation, interviews and students' personal data in the form of a check list of problems. Besides using the 3 methods, the researchers also use one tool psychological tests, namely the graphics test, where the function test is to understand the characteristics / personality aspects of individuals through cognitive, emotional and socialization. Subjects were students MTsN Malang 1 which amounted to 4 people. The study was conducted from 23 September 2005 until 22 April 2006. The method used to help the subject is to use meditation therapy and then continued with the provision of clinical counseling is done individually From the research result shows that, lack of confidence in themselves subjects due to lack of acceptance and understanding of themselves. And by using meditation therapy and clinical counseling, subjects started to increase self-confidence, such as increased acceptance of her shortcomings, ranging able to control yourself and think positive.
