Abstract

The digital era has significant implications in various line of life. Those implications are two things that accept very contradictive issues. The circumstances of the level of society as this moment tends to be pragmatic and idifferent to the privilege norms. These result will effect each individual not to make any filtration efforts to sort out which positive impact should be maximized and wich negative impact should be minimized. Delinquency or deviant behavior is often found in juvenile life. One of the juvenile delinquency that often occours is illegal race activity. Illegal race is one manifestation of juvenile delinquency, and if not dealt with quick and appropriately respons it will be a big problem. The illegal race is a prohibited activity and it is rule by Article 297 jo. Article 115 letter b Law No. 22 of 2009 about Road Traffic and Road Transportation. The development of illegal race activities were used to carry out the gambling process. This research discusses the Criminological Review of Gambling in Illegal Race Among Adolescents in the Legal Area of the Ponorogo Police. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing the occurence of wild race among teenagers, the legal aspects of gambling in wild races and to find out how the efforts, obstacles and solutions were made by the police in overcoming gambling in illegal races. The method in this study used sociological juridical approach. The result of the study indicate that the factors causing the occurrence of illegal race among teenegers are talent distribution, prestige, facilities, satisfaction and economic factors. The countermeasures carried out by the Ponorogo Police are repressive and preventive efforts. As the suggestion, there is a need for improvement especially in the field of technology and information in the police structure so that it can quickly handle cases related to technology and information.
