Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is one of gram-positive bacteria that entering skin,respiratory tract, and digestive tract mediated by virulence factors and host cell immune responses by sticking, colonizing and infecting and then survive, grow and develop the infection based on its ability. if Staphylococcus aureus infects humans, leukocytosis will occur, an increase in neutrophils occurs because body tries to compensate for tissue damage due to infection. This research was a systematic literature study used valid literature resources obtained from domestic and abroad sites. Several studies have shown kiwifruit contains phytonutrients that help the inflammatory process, including Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Flavonoids which will synergize in restoring quinine tocopherol radicals, as an anti-inflammatory, by reducing histamine and prostaglandin release by mast cells. Phytonutrients in kiwifruit inhibit the formation of reactive oxygen species. Vitamin E increases vitamin C effectiveness because it’s fat-soluble which may normalize the number of leukocytes by playing role as immunomodulators hence the immunity increased. Based on the above assessment, kiwifruit extract may increase the immune response, hence the level of leukocytosis decreased.
