The research was done at. Wru Village Paciran Sub-District Lamongan Residence East Java Province at December 24th 2007 - January 2008. The research aimed to find out the activity of salty fish making of Kite Fish (Decapterus, Sp) from salty fish technique to marketing. Kno~g factors caused the fonn of salty fish in small scale (home-industry). Knowing the influence of salty fishing in small scale (home industry). Knowing the influence of salty-fish in social-economy l.evel and also to fmd out supporting and inhibiting factor for salty-fish maker at Weru Village Paciran sub-district Lamongan Residence. Method used in the research was survey method by using descriptive analysis usage and direct participation in field-activity. The research concluded that the salty fish making phases were cleaning, arrangement, boiling, leaking, cooling, packaging, and marketing. Fishennan's daily inCQme was Rp 47,500,- after divided in twQ and redu~e the cost and daily income Rp 37.400,- there could be concluded that salty-fish making in fishennan's family was so useful in daily need. Salty fish making of kite-fish (Decapterus Sp) could influence socioeconomic level offishennan's family. They were the increasing of family income, the increasing of properties and consumtive pattern. The effect of social level was the fonn of social stratification, knowledge and education progress of the fishennan's family also psychological effect to the family's condition. Factors influenced salty-fish making in Weru village consisted of supporting factor, like salty-fish making location close to the Fish Market, cheaper and easier material, many of salty-fish demand, good transportation, didn't need many work-force, creating work-field, and increasing live-need of fisherman's family. Inhibition factor were raw material influenced by season, afraid to loss, un-predictable selling price, not-good processing, aphatic attitude and too much pride.
