Labor Elasticity on PT. Sangkar Mas Malang (Akhmad Tujuh, Advisor I: Drs. M. Faisal Abdullah, M.M, Advisor II: Dra. Idah Zuhroh, M.M) This research is concerning to the labor productivity analysis on cigarette company of PT. Sangkar Mas Malang. Its background study is a fact that the amount of woman labor in PT. Sangkar Mas Malang is almost 80% from all numbers of labor. Majority of woman as the manpower in this company works in cigarette rolling and packing unit, they are piece worker. Woman skill, carefulness, and neatness are really related to the cigarette production even it has been predicted what has influenced it is the level of wages. If the labor lacks of skill in conducting their activities, then, its production will also decrease. Therefore, if the labor lacks of skill, then, the labor wages will also decrease since many outputs they produced are given it back by company because it does not satisfy the standard and is not marketable, this really damages the labor since they have already worked but the product does not meet the requirement. For that reason, the effort to enhance the woman labor productivity and to focus on the factors influenced it are really important to the company development in challenging the future. The aim of this research is to identify the rate of labor productivity in PT. Sangkar Mas Malang and to recognize the effect of wages level and labor elasticity toward the labor productivity. This research is a quantitative and qualitative descriptive research. The technique of data collection is using research library technique and documentary technique. Data obtained are analyzed according to the theory and are organized by employing the table, either its frequency or percentage. Whereas for data analysis technique uses productivity index and the formulation for accounting the elasticity, it is so to identify the influenced factors of wage and labor toward the productivity. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that the highest labor productivity in cigarette rolling unit is able to produce 1050 rolls/hour and the lowest labor productivity is only able to produce 250 rolls/hour. While the highest labor productivity in packing unit is able to produce 88,89 pack/hour and the lowest labor productivity in this unit is able to produce 44,44 pack/hour. As the conclusion, the labor productivity is not always influenced by the rate of wages given by the company based on the result achievement but is affected by what is expected by the company itself.
