Abstract

This research is a case study at Grand Palace Hotel Malang, entitled "Analysis of Operating Costs and Determination of Rates To Increase Efficiency Service Management at Grand Palace Hotel Malang The purpose of this study is an analysis to improve the efficiency of hotel management through analysis of operating costs and tariff setting. The analytical tool used to determine the level of efficiency is the formula Efficiency: And to calculate the percentage of revenue to operating expenses (income) with the formula After that determination of tariff is calculated by the method BEP The result of calculation by means of the BEP method of analysis is as follows: BEP =, then we calculate the rate of +40% of BEP (profit target) and to know the room rate calculation is as follows From these calculations found a new tariff for each class room at the Hotel Grand Palace which when applied to meet the desired earnings target company. But if companies do not want to lose competitiveness in terms of tariffs, the hotels must increase the sales room was calculated as follows: Of all the calculation then the old rates to any hotel can achieve the desired level of profit with a record of the hotel is able to increase sales of his room while the new rates to the hotel room does not need to increase sales. Based on the above conclusions, the authors recommend the hotel if the company still uses the old rates with increasing levels of sales should be done with the best possible way according to the company while if the new company will charge for the hotel should improve the level of service and amenities comparable to the increase in rates.
