Abstract

The extremely rapid development of education sector in the 21st Century necessitates students to have high skills and abilities such as communication skills, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity or known as 4C. The 4C skills of students in Indonesia are still relatively low category. One of the way to improve students’ skills in 4C is applying an innovative learning models according in the 21st Century education. This project intends to study the learning model of Project Based Learning (PjBL) Integrated Synetics Mind mapping And Cooperative Learning (SM2CL) on critical thinking skills, creativity , cognitive learning outcomes and student retention. This type of project is a quasi-experimental project with pretest-posttest control group design. This project was tried on students of class X IPA I and X IPA III at SMAN 1 Pule Trenggalek, with a total of 62 students as respondents. These data use sampling technique called probably sampling because it is an easy way in random sampling. Descriptive and Inferential statistical data analysis techniques utilize Ms. Excel and Analysis of Covarian (SPSS Statistics 16.0) application. The results of this project indicate that there is an effect of Project Based Learning (PjBL) Integrated Synetics Mind mapping and Cooperative Learning (SM2CL) learning model for critical thinking skills as much as 1.04% higher than the control class with sig. 0.016, toward creativity as much as 1.06% higher than the control class with sig. 0,000, compared with cognitive learning outcomes as much as 1.17% higher than the control class with sig. 0,000 and the last student retention has 1.04% higher than the control class with sig. 0,000.
