Abstract

This study aims to explain the local economic development that has been implemented by the local government, especially the Industry and Trade Office of Ende district through the development of the Aenari tie weaving small business group. Ende Regency is a district that is very well known for its Tenun Ikat cloth. There are 249 Ikat Weaving business units registered at the Industry and Trade Office of Ende Regency at the end of 2019, then these groups are spread in several areas such as Nggorea Village, Nggela, Nuamuri, Wolojita, Wiwipemo, Manulondo, Rewarangga, Mbuliwalarau, Wolotopo, Koanara, Nuamuri, Ndungga Village, Saga Village, Woloara Village, Onekore Village, Nita Village, and Kekasewa Village. The direction of developing the potential of Ende's weaving is now a shared responsibility to maintain, maintain and optimize the wealth of local resources in accordance with the local content of each region. The direction of development which is intended is more towards increasing productivity so as to increase community income in certain areas. Ikat Weaving Craft in the Rewarangga village has become one of the most dominant economic driving activities. Thus, even though it is included in the most dominating activity, it does not guarantee the development of the weaving handicraft business. The development activities that have been carried out by the Industry and Trade Office of Ende district include; development of human resources for ikat craftsmen, support for facilitating access to marketing, facilitation for access to capital or material assistance as well as the provision of facilities and infrastructure to support the production of ikat processes.
