Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect application of open-ended problem based learning learning model with peer assessment of students' critical thinking ability and self-efficacy. The research approach in this study is a quantitative approach, the type of research is a quasi experiment, and the experimental design is non-equivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. This research was conducted using online methods, because it was carried out during the corona virus pandemic. The subjects in this study were 32 students of VII-E class as an experimental class who were taught using the PBL open-ended learning method and peer assessment, and 30 students in the VII-F class as a control class who were taught with the PBL open-ended learning method only. The research instrument used was observation of learning activities, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique used is the test normality and homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test based on the n-gain value of the value data of the critical thinking ability test and student's self-efficacy questionnaire. The results in this research is: there is an influence of the open-ended problem based learning methode with peer assessment on students' critical thinking skills and students' self-efficacy.
