Calculation of the validity of using the product moment formula, while the reliability test using Cronbach alpha technique. After a try out, made the spread of the scale for the study on April 28, 2006 at the SMU 5 Banjarmasin class 1 with a sample of 80 subjects. Through data analysis found that RBS = 0, 831 and p = 0, 000, which means that teenagers who make upward social comparisons (upward comparison) high konsumtifnya behavior, while teenagers who make comparisons to the bottom (downward comparison) low konsumtifnya behavior.
