Avoidance personality disorder is the presence of depressed feelings, aprehensi, insecure and inferior. These individuals are hoping to be liked and accepted but experience hypersensitivity to rejection and criticism. They believe that socially incapable and not attractive personally. The impact they become people who are not confident, anxious, suspicious and fearful while in the new environment or meet with strangers. Due to the large impact that occurred in individuals who have personality disorders to avoid and researchers consider it important to understand more deeply will the background and factors - factors that caused it, so this research aims to find out how the etiology of personality disorders and how efforts taken to overcome them. The subjects in this study are women with personality disorders to avoid as much as two people. This research uses a qualitative case study description. Data collection methods used are interviews, and psychological tests, namely the graphics tests, and SSCT. While the validity of the data using triangulation techniques with the sources, methods and theories. From the results of this research note that the two subjects have similar etiology of the treatment of parent or mother. Both subjects are the same - the same experience less favorable treatment as a rejection by a parent or a mother, the attitude of parents or mothers who are too restricting their social interactions and demanding, but rarely involve the subject in various social activities or that involved many people. So also with external factors that are found namely, the two subjects together - the same traumatic experience unpleasant events, such as the rejection by the peer group and environment. The difference in etiology from the second subject is the first on the subject have ssifat shy on the subject while the second has the childish attitude - infantile. Efforts are made is to consult a psychologist and who bring change for the better is with behavior modification and cognitive therapy.
