Abstract

The Purpose of this Study 1) To analyze the pattern of district economic growth on the island of Flores in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, and 2) To analyze the potential of the leading economic sectors of the district on the island of Flores in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The research object is located in Flores Island Regency, East Nusa Tenggara which consists of eight districts including Ende Regency, Nagekeo Regency, East Flores Regency, West Manggarai Regency, East Manggarai Regency, Manggarai Regency, Ngada Regency, and Sikka Regency. The results showed that 1) The pattern of economic growth in the Regency of Flores Island based on the Klassen Typology analysis showed that there were three regencies that were categorized as fast-forward and fast-growing districts, namely Ende Regency, Manggarai Regency, Sikka Regency. There is one area that is in the advanced but stressed category on Flores Island, East Flores Regency. The regions that are categorized as fast developing regions on Flores Island are East Manggarai Regency and Ngada Regency. While areas that are categorized as relatively disadvantaged on Flores Island are West Manggarai Regency and Nagekeo Regency. Location Quotient analysis results with an analysis period of 2015 - 2018 namely Ende Regency has 3 leading sectors, 6 prospective sectors, 4 mainstay sectors, and 4 lagging sectors. East Flores Regency has 1 leading sector, 5 prospective sectors, 6 mainstay sectors, and 5 lagging sectors. Manggarai Regency has 5 leading sectors, 3 prospective sectors, 5 mainstay sectors, and 4 lagging sectors. West Manggarai Regency has 2 leading sectors, 3 prospective sectors, 8 mainstay sectors, and 4 lagging sectors. East Manggarai Regency has 3 leading sectors, 2 prospective sectors, 7 mainstay sectors, and 5 lagging sectors. Nagekeo Regency has 1 leading sector, 2 prospective sectors, 7 mainstay sectors, and 7 lagging sectors. Ngada Regency has 4 leading sectors, 3 prospective sectors, 6 mainstay sectors, and 4 lagging sectors. And finally Sikka Regency has 3 leading sectors, 5 prospective sectors, 4 mainstay sectors, and 5 lagging sectors.
