Abstract
This research aimed to discover the types of terms of address and the most frequent type used by the main characters in 'The Theory of Everything' movie. In this research, qualitative research method was implemented to analyze the data. The objects of this research were dialogues of the movie script that contained the terms of address spoken by the main characters in 'The Theory of Everything' movie. In obtaining the data, document analysis was used by the researcher. Also, to support the validity, the findings was validated by the expert. This research has found 29 words of terms of address. There are 22 words using names, calling someone using names, such as Stephen and Jane. 5 words found using kinship, calling someone who has a family relationship, such as Mum and Father. 2 words found using intimacy, to call the closest person, such as Sweetie and Dear. Then, the addressing terms using mockery, addressing terms using respect, and addressing terms using solidarity name that are not found. It can be concluded that addressing terms using names is the dominant type of terms of address.
