Abstract

Background: Elderly is a process of aging which marked by physiological and phychological changes (mentally). Anxiety is a feeling of worry that causes an unstable emotional state, anxiety forms an emotional response that results in the production of the endorphin hormone decreases resulting in an imbalance of theelement neurotransmitter causing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves to be disturbed. Physical activity can affect thenerve autonomic (serotonin), the effect of relexation will change the sympathetic and paraasympathetic nerves to be stable, the process of decreased hormonal hypersecretion of the adrenal glands thereby increasing the endorphin hormone. Objective: To determine the relationship between physical activity and anxiety levels in the elderly in Sasana Arjosari Community Malang. Research Methods: Using Cross Sectional. Research subjects based on inclusion criteria amounted to 63 people usingtechnique purposive sampling. Measuring physical activity and anxiety using the GPAQ and HARS questionnaire. Test data analysis using Sperman's Rho programmed SPSS application. Results: Showing the results of 0,000 (p<0.05) which indicates that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, with a coting coefficient of 0.747 which indicates that there is a strong correlation between the two variables. Conclusion: There is a strong relationship between physical activity and anxiety levels in the elderly at Sasana Arjosari Community Malang.
