Abstract

Research carried out aiming to identify factors that influence elementary school students' motivation in the parlors of Social sanatorium nak Milky Way Stone. The type of research is a qualitative research study which is a procedure that produces descriptive data which is the written word from the man and observed behavior. Data collection techniques used in research iniadalah interviews and observations by using the subject of research by two elementary school students. This research was conducted on 14 November to 30 December 2005 at the Children's Social sanatorium Children Milky Way Stone. With mengguakn of data analysis used can be concluded there are two fundamental factors that affect Elementary School Student Motivation in Children's Social sanatorium Children Milky Way is Intrinsic Motivation and Extrinsic Motivation. Intrinsic motivation is the motive motive that becomes active or functioning do not need to be stimulated from outside, because in each individual self existing drive to do something. While Extrinsic motivation is the opposite of intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is the motive motive active and functioning due to a stimulus from outside. In line with these pemehaman Djamarah (2000: 122) states that this lack of interest in a subject into the base causes of why students do not begeming to record what what was spoken by the teacher. That is a sign that the students do not have the motivation to learn.
