Abstract

The low of result of study of the existing mathematics because of the low of quality of study applied by teacher in class, hence from that is researcher introduces study model of co-operative type NHT (Numbered Head Together). This study model can awaken motivation of student mathematics learning and do followed with improvement of achievement of student. Writing of this thesis aim to (1) increases motivation of learning at mathematics subject through study model of co-operative type NHT (Numbered Head Together), (2) by increasing motivation of student learning to lesson of mathematics expected at achievement or complete learnt student to increase. This research is qualitative research by using descriptive method as well as using research planning of action of class (PTK). To see motivation of student mathematics learning, data analyses done with analyzing equate result that do been given to research subject. Data analysis to see is complete learnt done with analyzing result of achievement test. Result of research before and after hit by study model NHT (Numbered Head Together) shows percentage of average of motivation of learning from fifth of element of motivation, that is seriously faces duty, resilient faces difficulty, enthusiasm, independence, love to look for and solves problem and self confidence to experience improvement. Percentage of before study model NHT (Numbered Head Together) equal to 72% and after worn [by] study model NHT (Numbered Head Together) equal to 75%, with the meaning experiencing improvement. While for complete learnt classical at first cycle that is 60% and experiences increase at second cycle become 85%. This thing means that study model of co-operative type NHT (Numbered Head Together) effective in increasing motivation and achievement of student mathematics learning.
