Abstract

Until now, the South China Sea Conflict is still unresolved, this conflict involves 4 ASEAN countries (Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia) as well as Taiwan and China. The China Sea conflict has escalated and can pose a threat in the region. Moreover, the United States wants freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. A new chapter in the South China Sea Conflict where in 2016 the Philippines won a lawsuit at the International Court of Arbitration, which in essence does not recognize China's territorial claims and traditional fishing ground which is always used as an excuse by China. This research is a Qualitative Descriptive research with the aim of formulating the role that can be taken by Indonesia in the resolution of the South China Sea Conflict. The data collection technique is a literature study which is a method of collecting data from sources in the form of academic literature in the form of: journals, magazines, books, news, newspapers and websites. This is done with the aim of obtaining data or historical facts that are related to the problem to be solved. The result of the research is a policy by Indonesia in resolving the South China Sea Conflict.
