Novel is one of prose fiction that tells truths of human life in unlimited forms. It describes romance, social life, adventure, tragedy, or mystery. Reading these topics would take the readers to an imaginative world that entertain and educate about the truth of life experience. Thus, analyzing novel could have the advantages to bring its researcher to the understandings about life experiences. This study has three main purposes that are about Mrs.Lorrimer’s motivation to admit murdering of Mr.Shaitana, to find out the kind of Mrs.Lorrimer’ s motivation to admit murdering of Mr. Shaitana, and to describe answer the effect of Mrs.Lorrimer’s motivation toward her life. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The method was designed to obtain information concerning with the current status or phenomena. It was started with literary research to provide research data. The data were examined carefully based on the purposes of the study. The object of this study is “Cards on the Table”; the novel written by Agatha Christie, in the form of events, paragraphs, or dialogues.The result found can be described as follows. The first. Mrs.Lorrimer was motivated to save Miss.Meredith because of her poverty her young age. The second, Mrs.Lorrimer motivation not only arouse from the outside that is called as “external motivation” but also from the inside that is called as “internal motivation”. The last is because Mrs.Lorrimer felt that she was failed to ensure M.Poirot, she became stress and decided to end her life.
