Abstract

Excessive use of inorganik fertilizers on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) can negatively impact soil quality and the environment. Efforts to overcome these problems can be done by utilizing organik fertilizer made from banana stem waste and adding EM4 bio activators as liquid organik fertilizer under study. However, the dose of liquid organik fertilizer that has been done is not optimal. This study aims to look at the effect of liquid organik fertilizer from banana stem waste by adding bio activator EM4 to the growth of height and number of leaves of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and determining the most optimal dose. This type of research is an experiment using Posts-Only Control Design with a quantitative approach. This study used 25 lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa L.) as samples treated with a liquid organik fertilizer at doses of 0 ml, 150 ml, 300 ml, 450 ml, and 600 ml. Data obtained after quantitative measurements were further analyzed using One Way Anova with a significance level of 5% and further tested using the Duncan test. The results showed that the dose at 450 ml was the most optimum treatment with each plant height growth (0.025) and the number of leaves (0.046). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the administration of liquid organik fertilizer from banana stems with the addition of EM4 bio activator can significantly influence the height and number of leaves of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.).
