Abstract

Utama, Ramdhan Noor Putra Wira. 2020. Analysis of Environmental Literacyin High School Students in Southern Thailand (Case Study of Mathayom Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School). Thesis. Malang: Departmen of Biology Education, FTEE, University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Advisors (1) Iin Hindun, (2) NurwidodoEnvironmental issues arise due to environmental damage that occurs in nature. Efforts made to overcome this are through environmental education. Environmental education aims to form a community that cares about the environment, the ultimate goal of environmental education is environmental literacy. Environmental literacy is the ability to understand, analyze and provide solutions to environmental problems. Environmental literacy consists of knowledge abilities, attitudes, behaviors and cognitive skills. This study aims to determinethe knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, cognitive skills and environmental literacy in high school students in southern Thailand. This research is a quantitative descriptive research with ex post facto type of research. The study was conducted at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School High School in grades 4 and 6 with a total of 180 respondents, non-probability side techniques by purposive sampling. Technical data analysis using descriptive statistical methods. The results of this study indicate that knowledge in grade 4 is better than grade 6 while attitudes, behavior and cognitive skills in grade 6 are better than grade 4 and there are differences in environmental literacy in grade 4 and grade 6
