Abstract

Malang Veterans Street is one of the roads that connect various places both in the economic and educational sectors in Malang City. Veteran Road has a length of 1.1 km with the type of road 4/2 D. The large number of generation in this road both economic and educational sectors resulted in dense road side activities. The density of the current and the high level of roadside activity result in traffic jams during peak hours in the Veterans Road section. This certainly affects the performance of the road section. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the Veterans Road section in conditions of conditions and manipulate traffic flow in the next 5 years as a material consideration for related agencies in the city of Malang. The calculation method used in this study was the 1997 MKJI method. Obtained the results of the analysis of the degree of saturation for the existing condition of the Veterans road> 0.80, 0.82 in the A-B direction and 0.83 in the B-A direction. So that there are 3 alternatives that can reduce the DS value. A highly recommended alternative is alternative 3 by widening the road to B-A direction by cutting the median width, then removing shoulder markings along the A-B direction. By using alternative 3, a safe DS value with DS value A-B is obtained, 0.68 and 0.70 for B-A direction. Reviewing the performance of the Veterans Road section using alternative 3 in the next 5 years is still within limits with a DS value in 2024 of 0.76 in the A-B direction and 0.79 in the B-A direction.
