Abstract

The DPRD's supervisory function aims to develop democratic life, guarantee the representation of the people and regions in carrying out their duties and authorities and develop a mechanism of checks and balances between the DPRD and the executive. One of the supervisory functions carried out in this study is the DPRD's oversight of the palm oil trading sector in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The palm oil trading sector is one of the leading sectors on the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan. Based on economic data, palm oil trade transactions in the last three years have contributed to the PDRB of Bangka Belitung Province by 19.01%. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. In applying this descriptive method, the writer must be observant in seeing the roots of the problems under study, and with accuracy in identifying existing problems, it will make it easier for researchers to obtain the data needed. As stipulated in Clause 49 paragraph (1) letter c PP 25/2004, DPRD has the task of supervising the implementation of development, governance and society according to their respective commissions. So the DPRD's supervisory steps in the palm oil trade sector in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province include; Hearing Meetings (RPD), Work Meetings, Work visits and DPRD follow-up. The results of the study that based on explanations related to DPRD supervision in the palm oil trade sector in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province concluded that DPRD supervision is still not optimal so it must be improved.
