Abstract

This research is based on the phenomena that people perception to the cigarette company is negative, that is make the air pollution or careless of the company to the environment. HM Sampoerna Ltd done the activity that people in Malang city wanted. HM Sampoerna Ltd became the sponsor in Malang Ijo royo-royo activity (MIRR). MIRR is the activity wich is thought up at the first by the mayor of malang Mr. Peni suparto. MIRR is one of the planning out program by the malang government in order to go in the direction of malang expert 2024. The program wich is started since 2004 have become the “tradition”to join in create the dream of most society. To create Malang back cool, pleasant, and cold such as in 1960’s era. First time done in 2004, the activites are : to perform any kinds of contest related to the environment, living circles seminar, and how it started the miss environment contest. The purpose of this study is to khow the people perception RW 02 society, Ketawanggede district about the Malang Ijo Royo-royo program which is sponsor by HM Sampoerna Ltd. This research used the descriptive quantitative research that is used variable account and statistic experiment. The technique of data collection is used the questionnaire and documentation. The population in this research is RW 02 society Ketawanggede district who is 17-50 years old, the number of this people is 593, while the sample in this research is a half of RW 02 society ketawanggede district who is meet the demand is about 86 respondent. The technique of taking sample is used simple random sampling technique, then the data taken is analyzed by used frequency distribution to get the clear illustration about how the people in their perception of Malang Ijo Royo-royo that is sponsor by HM. Sampoerna Ltd. And the score guidance for the perception. Based on the data analysis wich is use the percentage of perception comparison positive and negative method, it can conclude that the people perception of RW 02 Ketawanggede district about Malang Ijo Royo-royo is moderate. The result showed program and the people jugde that this program is useful. Things that they feel are directly, for example there is a feel of awareness that is we must be taking be care of the environment. The people perception do not become positive because there is doubt of the people toward the good intention of sponsor, HM Sampoerna Ltd. Beside that. The respondent still unsatisfied about the realization of Malang and the activities do not fit to the environment area directly. The writer sugeest that it need the better handle in realization the malang ijo royo-royo activities. Not only in kind of activities factor, implementation, and the long time implemented, but also hope that HM Sampoerna Ltd. Can increase society faith in sponsoring the Malang ijo royo-royo in order to the people feel is care from company to the environment.
