Abstract

The feud between China and Taiwan has been happening for a long time. To date, China's efforts to evacuated Taiwan from the international world are continuing. One of China's efforts was to disconnect Taiwan's diplomatic relations with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Among the countries that have decided diplomatic relations include: Panama, Dominican Republic, and El Salvador. The study aims to determine Chinese influence on the disconnection of Taiwanese diplomatic relations with three countries in Latin America and the Caribbean by using the concept posed by Susan Strange about the 4 elements of hegemony, namely Financial elements, production elements, elements of science, and security elements. The results of this study show that China has considerable influence on the termination of diplomatic relations of Panama, Dominican Republic, and El Salvador with Taiwan. The research shows that China's hegemony of the three countries is more dominant influenced by financial and production elements. Also, the One China Policy and One Belt and One Road Initiative Policies lead to the termination of Taiwan's diplomatic relations with all three countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
