Abstract

Increasing municipal waste is generated from every human activity. The purpose of this study is related to innovation in waste management using waste to energy technology in the utilization of waste in the Supit Urang TPA. Utilization of waste through the use of gas emissions released from landfills piled in landfills not only seeks to reduce and prevent humans, the environment and the earth from damage, but also the use of renewable energy. The research method is qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques through documentation, interviews and observation of field studies. Data analysis techniques used in this study describe the data collection of field study results (written or oral), researched, reduced until then drawn conclusions. The theory used is innovation from Roger. The results of this study are that the problem of waste is not only borne by the government. Waste management must be completed from upstream to downstream from the community settlement to the final disposal site. The renewal of the management system in the use of waste has been in effect since the program decentralization from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to the Department of Environment to build the latest technology-based waste disposal system. German interference in infrastructure development is one of the success factors in the implementation of the Supit Urang landfill waste utilization system. The output of the waste to energy program is electricity and gas emissions. The benefits are felt by the local government and also the community. Increased energy production from landfills has benefited the community and also local governments as energy producers. Fostering field workers, paying attention to the condition of the landfill area regularly and making improvements to the landfill heavy equipment.
