Abstract

In fact, that Grade 1 students at SDN Impres 2 Sie Bima still lack understanding about how to read, know the letters and numbers, so that there needs an increased motivation to learn through praise. This study aims to determine the influence of the praise of students ' learning motivation and how to, form, frequency of praise that can increase the motivation of learning students.. This study uses qualitative research with a type of case studies study. As a data source, selected Grade 1 students at SDN Impres 2 Sie Bima, school year 2019/20120 with a total of 20 students. The study was conducted from July 2019 to August 2019, starting from pre-observation until the Observation Act took 1 month. The results of this study showed the praise in Grade 1 students at SDN Impres 2 Sie to improve student motivation. This is demonstrated by the effective value of students through the assessment of the increasing aspects of the student's behaviour after the commendation process. In this research researchers found the most beloved forms of praise students namely: good, clever, beautiful/handsome and intelligent. And for the most beloved non-verbal form and able to increase the spirit of student learning, the applause and thumbs up from the teacher. Thus from the research process this researcher concluded that the qualitative analysis of the application of commendation has a positive influence so as to increase the motivation of learning students by the total value of the results from 1571 to 2096 where there is an increase of reaching 20%. The results of this research are advised to be used as a reference teacher to motivate students ' learning and to guide the students so as to develop potential.
