Abstract

This research intend to find out the content of moral messages from prank video of an Indonesian youtuber who is also a famous artist. Prank are included in one of the video blog content (vlog) on youtube which is much in demand by the audience, but it harms many audiences. Researchers found an entertaining prank and also had a positive message that is moral in the Baim Paula video. The purpose of this research is to find out what moral messages occur in the Baim Paula’s video blog (analysis of the contents of the Baim Paula prank video on youtube). Using content analysis methods with quantitative approaches and types of descriptive research. The object of this research is a prank video on Baim Paula's youtube channel in January and February 2019. There are 9 videos that have prank content with 192 shots containing moral messages. Based on the results of the researched, researchers found a tendency for moral messages in the prank video of Baim Paula, namely religious moral messages, social moral messages and psychologist moral messages. The three moral messages would be separated into 7 sub categories, including grateful, humble, sharing, caring, hardworking, confident and friendly. The humble sub-category which has the highest percentage of emergence is 74.6%. This means that Baim wants to show humility through prank videos. The 3 other sub categories that often appear are humble, sharing and friendly.
