Abstract

Basically, all individuals has conflict potential. So did in working process, where individual should work in group. The most prominent characteristic from a group was individual conflict in the group and in the next level would pull conflict with another group and conflict between group in organization. The conflict existed since somebody has need, wish, and importance which should be satisfied and it was threatened since somebody else’s action or decision. In organization, conflict between employee was happened caused by friction in fulfilling needs which influenced by motivation factor, perception, experience, and attitude in deciding somebody’s way in satisfying his / her needs. That’s why a good problem solving ability was needed in this, so that the employee could work better and able to rule the organization’s job and rule. This research was quantitative which aimed to find out the relation between problem solving ability with interpersonal conlfict between employee. Dependent variable in this research was interpersonal conflict and the independence variable was problem solving ability. Data collection was done by using two scale. They were problem solving ability scale and interpersonal conflict scale. Data was found from 70 employees Creative team Department of Trans7 Jakarta. Data analysis was used product moment analysis. Data analysis concluded that there were a significant negative relation between problem solving ability with interpersonal conflict in employees (-0,094 ,sig>0,000). It showed that subject with high problem solving ability with rate 48,57%, then subject with low problem solving ability 51,43%. Higher the ability of problem solving, there would be lower interpersonal conflict. So does the opposite. Lower the problem solving ability, higher the interpersonal conflict.
