Abstract

The layout of the plant or production facility is a setting to specify the location of the facility by considering the flow of material, area. Facility layout settings play an important role in the smooth production process, so that will be achieved a regular work flow, secure and comfortable. Observations Arjasa Junrejo Stone Company, indicate a mileage transfer of materials that long, giving rise to large material handling costs as well. To improve the layout of production facilities was performed with the program application Quantitative System Version 3.0 with the module layout of the facility. Facility layout is the basic concept of using CRAFT (computerize Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique). This program is used to obtain a new Layout. Thus obtained results of analysis of distance and cost of material transfer between the initial layout with the layout of the proposal.Results of analysis and redesign the layout of production facilities is a new layout with Rectilinear Distance distance model, ie mileage of 11 714 meters material handling is reduced to 10001.5 meters to obtain a difference of 1712.5 meters or experiencing the percentage savings of 14.61% from the previous layout. The cost of removal of material from Rp.2.312.000 reduced to Rp1.946.000 so obtained difference of Rp. 366 000 or experiencing the percentage savings of 15.83% from the previous layout. Thus, the proposed location of this tat can be used to reconstruct the layout of production facilities in the Company Arjasa Junrejo- Batu. Keywords: Design, Layout, Material Handling, QS.
